Security Dilemmas and Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region

Institute of Middle and Far East Studies invites the researchers specializing in the Asian studies, political science, international relations and history to participate in the international conference titled Security dilemmas and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. Alliances and disputes in the shadow of politics of memory and balance of power in the 21st century, which will be held in January 26th, 2018, and will be followed by the student’s workshop.
Since the Asia-Pacific region becomes the place for the shifts of the regional powers, the question of security is a growing challenge and dilemmas seem to be crucial. Economic and political changes in the past two decades have triggered a reorganization of the world order, what in consequence had an impact on the role and position of Asian countries on an international scene and in particular in the region of Asia-Pacific.
Abstracts are invited for the 20-minute presentations that will treat about the security issues in Asia-Pacific region from the perspective of one of the following disciplines:
- Political sciences and IR
- Economy
- History
- Philosophy and religion (especially Confucianism)
- Sociology and migration
- Law
We strongly invite students to present their research during the Student Session.
