Edward Yang Retrospective

This is the first time that Edward Yang's entire oeuvre is being presented in the Netherlands, following retrospectives at the Cinématheque in Paris, the Lincoln Centre in New York and the British Film Institute in London.

This is the first time that Edward Yang's entire oeuvre is being presented in the Netherlands, following retrospectives at the Cinématheque in Paris, the Lincoln Centre in New York and the British Film Institute in London. With several Dutch premieres and newly restored versions of THE TERRORIZERS and EXPECTATION. Plus the director’s cut of  A BRIGHTER SUMMER DAY re-edited and restored by Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Foundation (Only one previous screening, at the 2010 International film Festival Rotterdam)

Opened on 18 December 2012 at EYE by Edward Yang’s widow, Kaili Peng, trustee of the Edward Yang archive and composer of the score for Yang’s final film YI YI, which won the Golden Palm for best direction at Cannes film festival.
